NCCN General Secretary Dr. K.B. Rokaya was honored

Remote Area Development Nepal (RAD-Nepal) felicitated NCCN General Secretary, a notable human rights activist, Dr. K.B. Rokaya organizing a programme of honor and interactionon "Remote Mountainous Area and the Issue of Human Rights and Social Justice"in Reporters Club, Kathmandu, on 26 March 2007.
Honorable Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal Mr. Amik Sherchan who also hold the portfolio of Health Minister, as chief guest of the programme, felicitated Dr. K. B. for making significant contribution in the development of remote areas and in the sectors of human rights, peace and justice.Addressing the programme of honor Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Sherchan congratulated Dr. Rokaya for his efforts in the development of remote mountainous areas and constantly speaking the voice of voiceless people. He also thanked to the RAD-Nepal for selecting genuinely qualifiedpersons for honor.
Speaking at the programe Dr. Rokaya said that most of the intellectuals and experts of different sectors either remained silence to the burning issues of the nation or compromised with the rulers for their survival which is one of the major causes for lacking behind our nation in development. On the occasion CPN (UML) central committee member Mr. Shankar Pokhrel congratulated Dr. Rokay for constantly raising voice for the rights of people of deprived class and region.
The Commendation letter has appreciated Dr. Rokaya's efforts in bringing together different religious communities to work for peace, justice, human rights and other common issues faced by Nepali society.
